Kousoku at Genki Sushi

This always lights up my day. You arrive and take your seat. The little iPad in front of you changes to show it's ready to take your order. So you tap through the menu and accumulate items of sushi and whatnot to your list and submit it. Literally five minutes later - sometimes less - the lights in front of you flash and a train carting along one to four dishes pulls up in front of you. Take the dishes off the cart and push a button and the train goes on its way ... repeat, repeat and within thirty minutes, you're done.

For me, it's not so much the speed of the meal, though that's a bonus sometimes; it's the efficiency. No wasted food. Chefs working on orders as soon as they arrive. Freshly-made sushi - seaweed-wrapped items, I'm looking at you. I know people who abhor Genki, but I've been going for over a decade now and am still a fan. No stomach trouble or anything. It's worth the $200 odd for a meal.

And friends from out of town really admire the set-up, too. Win-win!
