Whose Dog Is It, Anyway?

You think it’s gonna be a focussed afternoon of clearing away a molehill of marking, but no...

On the way to taking roll-call, you hear pounding footsteps approaching. Do you:

a. Turn around and look.

b. Ignore it and keep walking.

c. Hesitate...

I went with a.

And it was E being chased by some dog. Unsure as to whether he was in any danger, I went over. E stumbles and sprawls onto the tiles, but the dawg doesn’t do anything to him.  He doesn’t seem vicious (the dog, not E).

I tell him ‘No!’ and nab him by the collar (the dog, not E). E goes back to his classroom.

Ask J to get help from the GO.

Ask R to take roll call.

Sit down and wait while surrounded by lesser animals, er, students.

Tick-tock.

J returns, saying the GO called for a janitor.

Fend off E2, who tried to feed the dog some tiny bones.

Consider feeding E2 to the dog, but don’t want to kill the poor thing (the dog, not E2).

Janitor finally arrives; hand off and leave...

to do other stuff that still gets in the way of plain ol marking.

.

And I still don’t know where that dog came from.
