Fuel for Fiction
Reading good books fires up my senses and gets me writing naturally. After a two-week hiatus, I was scribbling again last night and felt a real rush. There is so much further to go before this novel is finished. The plot is full of holes and the conflict doesn't seem critical enough, but at least I'm going at it again.
I credit Stephen King's 'Bag of Bones,' which I got from YouTube. It's something like 15 hours of listening, chilling background music included. It leaves me hankering after more audiobooks. And then yesterday, at the Writers' Café, the story and the voice of my character tumbled out faster than they could be written down. Super satisfying. Incredible how motivating camaraderie can be.
Shall be chipping away at the stories section soon, methinks. Check it out sometime.
