Summer Is...
staying up until
the lights in the neighbourhood are
off
freely reading
good books
that you find are
part of a trio
recently discovered!
Finders Keepers
by Stephen King
(slow start; excellent build-up)
and the last Harry Potter book, a script --
(crammed full of characters
sub-par in comparison to the novels).
The generosity of summer hours
bids me stay up later
into the early hours of the next day
and the next
yawning and bleary-eyed
until this summer dreamscape
ends.
Am discovering the Bill Hodges trio by Stephen King this summer (cracking good). Discovered that The Giver by Lois Lowry was part of a quartet (well-conceived; looking forward to the rest of the series). Finished 'The Cursed Child' by J.K. Rowling (a mild disappointment). Feeling very grateful for the Amazon Kindle and The Book Depository, which promise instant delivery and free shipping respectively. That's my reading for September sorted. :-) Wonder what you are reading these days. Anything good?
